Yesterday we had the contractors in to shear the sheep, this needs to be done once a year, we don’t get much money for the wool (it barely covers the cost of getting them done) but have it done on welfare grounds. We picked the hottest day of the year so I guess the sheep would be relieved to get shut of their coats, we have to roll up the fleeces & chuck them in a large wool sheet, her indoors gets landed with this job while I try & keep the sheep pens full. It’s all go for an hour or two but it’s a job well done.

One half of the shearing team is our neighbour Chris Brown (pictured), who reckons he’s the best sheep shearer in Yorkshire, more like the biggest bull sh****r  in Yorkshire!
